Booth basics

How much does a photo booth rental cost in Orange County?

We do not publish set prices, because every event is quoted individually. What moves the number: how many hours you need, whether you want the classic photo booth, the 360 video booth, or both, your backdrop and prop choices, travel distance, and the day of the week. Send us your date, city, and rough guest count and we reply with a custom quote the same day, usually within the hour. No deposit is required to get a quote and there is no obligation.

What services do you offer?

We offer a full range of photo and video experiences: a traditional photo booth, a 360 video booth, GIFs, boomerangs, optional unlimited on-site printing, custom props, themed backdrops, stanchions, and flood lighting. You choose the classic photo booth, the 360 video booth, or both, and we build the setup around your event.

What is a 360 photo booth?

A 360 photo booth is a raised platform your guests stand on while a camera arm orbits them, recording slow-motion video from every angle. The clip renders in a few seconds, gets your event branding applied automatically, and guests text or AirDrop it to themselves on the spot. It is also called a 360 video booth or a 360 spin booth, and it is the single most shared thing at most events we run.

What is the difference between a photo booth and a 360 video booth?

Our photo booth captures photos, GIFs, and boomerangs in seconds and prints them on the spot. The 360 video booth records a slow-motion video as a camera arm orbits you, for a cinematic clip guests share from their phones before they leave. You can book either one on its own, or both together at the same event.

Do you provide props?

Absolutely. We bring a large collection of fun props, and we can also create custom ones to match your event's look and feel, including your logo or event name.

Do you have backdrops?

Yes. We have standard backdrops that give great photo results, plus premium and custom options to match your event's theme and colors.

Can I customize the photo layout or video overlay?

Yes. We personalize every layout and video frame with your logo, event name, and colors, so your guests take home something that truly reflects your event.

Do you offer instant sharing?

Yes. Guests can instantly text, email, WhatsApp, or QR-share their photos, GIFs, and videos right from the booth. No waiting, just instant smiles.

How many people fit in the booth?

The classic photo booth comfortably holds 8 to 10. Our record is 42 in one photo. Comfortable? No. Did we get the shot? Absolutely. We get creative. The 360 booth is a different story: the platform is built for 1 to 3 people, because the camera arm needs room to orbit without meeting anybody's head.

Booking and logistics

What types of events do you cover?

We have helped create memories at weddings, birthdays, quinceañeras, corporate events, trade shows, school dances, graduations, brand activations, charity galas, community festivals, and even pet birthday parties. If people are gathering to have fun, we are there.

What areas do you serve?

We are based in Aliso Viejo and cover all of Orange County, including Irvine, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Anaheim, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, Costa Mesa, and Huntington Beach. We also travel to the Inland Empire, North County San Diego, and south Los Angeles County. If your city is not listed, just ask. We very likely cover it.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at least 4 to 8 weeks in advance to secure your date, especially during peak seasons like weddings, holidays, and graduation time. Last-minute bookings may be possible depending on availability, so it is always worth asking.

How do I book or get a quote?

Just fill out our short contact form with your event details: the date, time, location, and what you are looking for. We will send a custom quote the same day, usually within the hour and help plan the perfect setup.

Do you take a deposit, and when is the balance due?

A 50% retainer is due when you sign the agreement, and that retainer is what actually reserves your date. The remaining 50% is due 30 days before your event. We will remind you, so you are not relying on your own memory during the busiest month of your year. If a different schedule genuinely works better for you, raise it before you sign and we will do what we reasonably can. Your signed agreement is the final word on payment dates.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancel in writing at least 30 days before your event and we refund everything you have paid, less a $100 cancellation fee. Inside 30 days we are not able to refund, because by that point we have turned other bookings away for your date and cannot fill it. Refunds are processed within 10 days of the request. If we ever have to cancel on you, you get every penny back. And if something genuinely awful happens in your life, tell us. We are a small local company, not a call centre, and we will be as reasonable as we can be within the agreement you signed.

Can we move our event to a different date?

Usually, yes. Send the request in writing at least 30 days ahead. If we are free on your new date we move you and issue a new agreement. If we are not free, you get your money back. Inside 30 days we will still try, but if we cannot cover the new date the payments cannot be refunded, because your original date has gone by then. Ask early and this is almost never a problem.

Will our photos end up on your website or Instagram?

Only if you are comfortable with that. Our standard agreement includes a model release, which is how the gallery on this site exists at all: every photo on it is from a real booking. If you would rather your event stayed private, tell us and we remove that release from your agreement. No argument, no extra charge, no awkwardness. Some events should stay between the people who were there.

How much space do you need for the setup?

We recommend a space of at least 10 by 10 feet so guests can move comfortably around the photo booth or 360 video booth, plus access to a standard power outlet within 15 feet of the setup area.

Are you insured?

Yes, SoCalFun365 is fully insured. If your venue requires proof of insurance, let us know and we can provide a certificate of insurance ahead of your event. Tell us early and name the venue, because some venues want to be listed by name on the certificate.

What do you actually need from the venue?

Three things. A clear, level 10 by 10 foot area. A standard power outlet within 15 feet. And a way to get the gear from the car to that spot. That is it. If your room is tighter than 10 by 10, send us the dimensions and we will tell you honestly whether it works rather than turning up and improvising.

Can you set up on grass, sand, or a slope?

Level and firm is what matters, not what it is made of. Grass is usually fine if it is flat and dry. Soft sand and anything on a noticeable slope is a problem, especially for the 360 booth, where the platform has to sit dead level with people standing on it. Tell us the surface when you enquire and we will tell you straight whether it works or what we would need to make it work.

Are there stairs, lifts, or long walks we should mention?

Yes, please mention them. Stairs, a service lift, a long walk from the loading area, or a narrow doorway all change how much time we need on site. None of it is a dealbreaker. It is only a problem when we find out on the day.

On the day

Do you provide an attendant?

Every booking comes with a friendly on-site attendant who sets up, runs, and manages the booth so you can focus on having fun. You never have to touch the equipment.

How long does setup take?

Our team arrives ahead of your start time to deliver, set up, and test everything before your first guest arrives, so the booth is ready to go the moment your event begins. Setup and teardown are always included, never counted against your booth time.

Can you set up outdoors?

Yes, we love outdoor events. We just ask for a flat, shaded, or covered area with access to power, and a backup indoor option in case of extreme weather, since the equipment needs to stay protected from rain, wind, and direct heat.

How long can we access our photos afterward?

Every event comes with a personalized online gallery of all your photos, GIFs, and videos, available for 5 months after your event at no additional cost. You can also download and keep unlimited digital copies from your special event.

Can you do a pet birthday party?

Yes. We offer a dedicated pet-friendly booth with pet-safe equipment, low-flash settings, and pet-sized props. You can learn more on our Pet Birthdays page.

What happens if the weather turns?

For any outdoor booking we ask you to hold a backup indoor spot when you book, and we agree the cutoff with you rather than deciding for you on the day. The equipment is genuinely unhappy about rain, wind, and direct afternoon heat, so we would rather move it early than dry it out afterwards.

What happens if something goes wrong with the equipment?

This is exactly why an attendant is included rather than optional. Somebody who knows the kit is standing next to it all night, so most things get quietly fixed while your party carries on and you never hear about it. If the printer itself fails on site, your agreement entitles you to a free online printing service, so every guest still gets their photos. That is written into the contract, not a favour we might decide to do.

Who is allowed to operate the booth?

Our attendant, and only our attendant. It is not us being precious about the equipment. It is a safety rule, and it is also the reason your guests never have to work out how anything functions. They step in, they pose, they get their photos. Somebody else deals with the technology.

Making it work at your event

When should the booth run during a wedding reception?

After dinner and after the speeches. Open it too early and everyone is still seated and sober and being polite. Open it once the dancing starts and the queue does not stop. If you only want the booth running for part of the night, that is the part.

Will my guests actually use it?

They will, if it is somewhere they walk past. The single biggest predictor is placement: put the booth where people already are, near the bar or the dance floor, not down a corridor by the toilets. Have the DJ or MC mention it once. And go and use it yourselves early, because guests follow the hosts. Our attendant will also pull people in rather than standing there waiting.

How do we make sure we get photos of ourselves?

Tell the attendant at the start of the night. It is the one thing hosts forget and then regret, because you spend the evening talking to everybody and never make it into the booth. We will come and find you.

Do we tip the attendant?

Never expected, always appreciated. Nobody will think less of you either way, and the booth will run exactly the same.

Did we miss something?

Tell us about your event and we will answer any question you have, with a custom quote to match.
